this is really beautiful.I've read your comment on the creating process,and find it to be quite interesting.I am used to applying different methods on a single object,but somehow,it never occured to me,that this is possible in creating illustrations as well.

Yes, I did start with watercolors, but they seemed somewhat bland and insignificant. So I decided to emphasize the colors with colored pencils. The white pen was just a final touch for highlights.

Well first I outline the face with pencil. Then I spay it so it wouldn't smudge when I paint. I used watercolors only if I remeber right. When I was done with watercolors. I used yellow pencil for the upper part of face and blue for the lower part. The final touch was the highlights made with white pen. Hope it helped. It's more about freedom, do not follow any rules.
